Christmas shopping rush and rain

Nothing as unpredictable as the British weather… Although by now I should know that the chance of rain on any day in London is pretty high. So the plan today was to shoot some lovely Christmassy pictures of the city with all its pretty decorations. But I got rain instead. Not a little bit of rain. No, 100% chance of rain – all day. That’s a lot of rain.

But since I hadn’t posted anything for over a week, I was determined to get those pictures and went outside with my camera anyway. But, take it from me, even a huge Christmas tree on Trafalgar Square doesn’t look as festive with a grey and rainy sky and people trying hard not to be blown away by the storm. Time for plan B.

Since the whole idea behind my post was to show Christmas in London anyway, I decided to show you another, less glamorous side of Christmas in this city: last-minute shopping. My guess is that as I was wishing that I hadn’t been so lazy yesterday (sunny, no rain), these people were probably thinking the same. I’m just hoping that my camera survived this rainy photo shoot, or I will have to give myself a very early Christmas present in January.
