For some reason I don’t buy second-hand books very often. But I find second-hand book markets impossible to resist. Even if I’m not looking for something in particular, and probably won’t buy anything, I always love the sight of all those books on display. Some really old, falling apart just by looking at them. Some very intellectual, and then some not so much. There’s really something for everyone.

So you can imagine how happy I was to discover this book market on the Southbank. I was strolling along the Thames, enjoying the beautiful weather and trying not to get too annoyed by all the tourists, when all of a sudden there it was. The Southbank Book Market under the Waterloo Bridge on Queen’s Walk. They say it’s one of London’s best kept secrets, which I find hard to believe with so many people walking by it every day, but it had definitely been a secret for me.
